Troubleshooting

My captures don't appear in Photos

Open Momento's Settings and check that Save Captures to Photos is on, and that Photos Access is allowed. If access is off, open the iPhone Settings app › Privacy & Security › Photos › Momento and choose Full Access, Limited Access or Add Photos Only. Captures are always kept in Momento's gallery, so you can save them to Photos afterwards.

Why does Momento ask for photo library access?

Access is used only to import the videos you choose and to add the frames you capture to Photos. Momento never uploads, analyzes or shares your photos and videos.

A video takes a while to open

If the video is stored in iCloud, it is downloaded to your iPhone first; the progress is shown while it loads. Very long 4K videos can also take a moment to prepare.

The saved photo has a different size than my screen

That's intended: frames are saved at the video's own resolution (for example 3840 × 2160 for 4K), not at the resolution of your display.

I deleted a frame in Momento. Is it gone from Photos too?

No. Deleting in Momento removes the frame only from Momento's gallery. Copies already saved to Photos are not affected.

Will I lose my gallery if I delete the app?

Yes. Momento's gallery is stored inside the app on your iPhone, so deleting the app removes it. Frames you saved to Photos stay in Photos.
